Long forgotten, the Robert Allen Family Cemetery on the former plantation of Robert Allen and his wife Susan (Calcote) Allen is situated just off the Jack Road in the northwestern corner of Copiah County, Mississippi 7 or 8 miles south of Utica. It is located in Section 11 of Township 2 North, Range 4 West and is mentioned in a recorded Deed having Washington C. Allen and Robert K. Allen, as grantors, wherein they reserve 2 acres as the family cemetery.
In 1987 I visited the cemetery with cousins Bob and Debra Allen and transcribed all of the tombstones that we could access and read. I have no doubt that the three sons of Robert and Susan Allen who all died in 1859-60 are buried there, although we didn't see markers for them - Robert K. Allen, Washington C. Allen and William H. Allen.
